Gopika Pant, the Founder Partner of Indian Law Partners, a boutique corporate law firm, has more than thirty four years of legal experience and is dual qualified in India and New York, USA. She has a BA Hons degree from St. Stephens College and an LL.B. from Delhi University. She was also admitted to the Bar in the State of New York, USA after completing her LL.M. from Columbia University in 1986 and working in New York City during 1986-1990, before returning to India, where she earned a Diploma in Environmental Law, World Wide Fund for Nature 1993.

In 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 she was honoured successively in India’s A-List of the top 100 lawyers in India by the India Business Law Journal.

Gopika has significant experience in Indian corporate and commercial laws and is a specialist in cross border commercial transactions, including restructurings, acquisitions, JVs, business alliances, foreign portfolio investments, private equity investments & exits, insolvency & bankruptcy, banking & finance, infrastructure & project finance and real property transactions.

Gopika’s experience includes advising Times Bank in India’s first private banking merger between HDFC and Times Bank; Japan Bank for International Cooperation in various transactions, including its investments in the Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC), Takshasila Hospitals and TechnoTrends Auto Park, Kuwait Petroleum, BUPA, BlueScope Steel, Toshiba, Mitsui, Nippon Paper, Dow Jones, Bosch, KIA Motors, Merlin Entertainments, Hyundai, Savills, Blueair, Fujitsu General, Brookfield, M&G Investments, GE, Arab Bank, Navitas, Framestore, Soktas Turkey and Avaada Energy on diverse matters.

Gopika is a director on the board of various corporates like GKN Driveline (India) Limited and Asset Reconstruction Company (India) Ltd.

Gopika is a keen environmentalist and an enthusiastic public speaker and some of her recent assignments have been addressing various conferences in India, London, Singapore, Japan and the USA. Gopika has also written articles and chapters in various Indian and international journals, books and newspapers.
